Sergio Fortina was born in Ferrara on August 5th, 1960.
Driven by his creativity and allured by fashion, he attended photography and graphics in Milan. In 1995 he majored at the John Kaverdash fashion photography academy.
He teamed up with world-famous photographers, contributing to the making of important commercials and editorials.
As time went by, his ecleticism, the desire to find brand new incentives and the will for newness, are the spark to see “ZERO”, a movie he produced, come to light. The movie under the direction of Marco Arturo Messina, tries to combine motion-picture art with photography.
The art of photography {quote} : “is essentially the capability of spotting, at the very same time and in a blink of an eye, an event and its pattern, the lines we perceive by the sight, that reveal us the very meaning of the event itself. It means being able to put on the same level mind, eyes, heart. Most of my pics hinge on people, and I try to share with the audience my feeling about that person, a human being caught in a far bigger environment, what I guess is human condition. What I’d like people to understand about my work, is this human relationship between all of us, no matter where we live. There’s a binding among human beings that goes beyond religion, gender and race. At the bottom we’re all the same and at the same time we’re all different. That’s the beauty of the world, and it’s out there for all to see. And to be frozen magically and forever in a picture”.
